Lets get it started

I am starting this blog after becoming abnormally irate when hearing about the negative review given to the movie Valentine's Day by Entertainment weekly. As a 20 something female I happen to perticularly enjoy a romantic comedy. I look forward to them coming out and don't mind when it is predictable that the guy and girl will fall in love at the end. This particular reviewer gave Valentine's Day an F. AN F!!! How? While this movie was not the all time best romantic comedy that I had ever seen, it was good and definatly not deserving of an F. Aside from calling this delightful movie "crap" the critic (Lisa Schwartzbaum, Entertainment Weekly's Debbie Downer) also insults the reader by saying that if you actually like this movie you must have sublevel intelligance and no taste. I am extrememly tired of critics telling me how to feel and tearing a movie apart by not seeing it for what it is. It is 2 hours of entertainment. That is it. For two hours you are able to dive into a different place and different situations that are meant to captivate you and consume you for two hours. If a movie is really great than it will get you thinking about it and talking about it long after that 2 hours is over. This blog is intended to give real views on movies. I will not tear them apart and tell you how unrealistic the plot was or how horrible the writing was. I will give you my honest opinion as to who may like a certain movie, and why you may not like it. Even the worst movies have people that really, truly enjoyed them. As for you Lisa Schwartzbaum: If you are so incapable of seeing a movie for what it really is, and not able to stop focusing so much on the negative aspect of everything, then you are missing out. Stop overthinking a movie and for those two hours just relax and enjoy the show. Maybe you will find yourself actually enjoying your job, because right now it sounds like a you a very unhappy woman.
